Description
Leveraging two of Leo Fender’s legendary models, the S-500 and Comanche, the G&L Tribute Legacy is yet another solidbody designed and wired for impeccable tone and mind-blowing playability. At the heart of the Tribute Legacy is a trio of CLF-100 Alnico V pickups deliver tried-and-true late-’50s-style chime and quack. Guided by Paul Gagnon, one of G&L’s committed designers, these pickups have been meticulously built and wired to deliver the kind of sonic output that tone chasers of essentially any genre will love. This guitar is also loaded with G&L’s PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) system, which functions as a 2-band tone control, allowing bass and treble frequencies to be cut separately for precise tone shaping. However, the electronics aren’t the only impressive thing that the Tribute Legacy has to offer this guitar is incredibly comfortable and easy to play. During long sessions, you’ll appreciate the lightweight poplar body, comfortable contours, and fast “C”-shaped maple neck.
Comfortable body shape and silky-smooth playability
For many guitar players, playability is the most important thing about a new axe. You can rest assured that the G&L Tribute Legacy will play exceptionally right out of the box. The familiar body shape has soft contours that make extended playing sessions more comfortable than ever before. The Tribute Legacy is also fitted with a Leo Fender-designed G&L Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato bridge for incredible sustain and tuning support.
A tone that’s straight out of the 50s
The distinctive voice of the Tribute Legacy is created by a trio of CLF 100 single-coil pickups. These rocking single-coils are descended from the bright and spanky pickups of the 50s. They deliver that vintage, enchanting chime that captivated so many guitarists and audiences at rock ‘n’ roll’s birth. In addition, the 5-way pickup selector switch unlocks multiple tones including those beloved quacking tones in positions 2 and 4. If you’re looking for a guitar with a vintage tone that sounds as good as it looks, you’ve found it in the Tribute Legacy!
Leo’s favorite creations
After founding two hugely successful guitar brands and consulting on the side, Leo Fender felt that he had unfinished business in the guitar world. Together with partner George Fullerton, G&L opened for business in 1979 and incorporated innovative design elements into their instruments, such as the Magnetic Field Design pickups, Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato, Saddle-Lock Bridge, and Bi-cut neck design. Leo was so proud of his new instruments that he famously declared that G&L’s “are the best instruments I have ever made.” Play a G&L today and experience the magic for yourself.
